Compete in the World Cup of Food 2026

The World Cup of Food is a Burlington Dads community food competition where local independent restaurants compete in popular food categories. Customers visit participating restaurants, upload receipts, collect passport stamps, rank their favourites, and help raise funds for the Help a BD Fund.

• Must be an independent restaurant
• Chain restaurants and franchise operations are not eligible
• Must be located in Burlington or approved surrounding area
• Must submit one designated competition item per category entered
• Must agree to display event QR code/signage
• Must agree to provide one $100 gift card per category entry
• Must pay $200 per category listing
• Must provide logo, dish photo if available, and business details
• Must support receipt-based customer verification

Each category aims for 4–5 competing restaurants.

• Listing in the World Cup of Food app
• Category placement in the public bracket
• QR code for customer receipt submissions
• Social media promotion through Burlington Dads
• Eligibility to be crowned category champion
• Feature dish exposure to engaged customers
• Community goodwill and direct customer traffic
• Participation in a Burlington-wide event supporting the Help a BD Fund

Customers must:

1. Create an account
2. Visit participating restaurants
3. Upload a receipt photo
4. Have their receipt verified
5. Collect restaurant stickers in their digital passport
6. Rank restaurants only after visiting at least two restaurants in the same category

This creates a more credible voting system because people must actually visit and verify purchases before ranking.
